Devotion
Every intimate relationship is established and sealed through devotion. Devotion to a spouse, child, parents, friends, and family is the fruit of love. Because we love them, we devote ourselves to them. Devotion to God, our creator, is the same. Devotion becomes a natural part of an intimate relationship with Him. Like love, devotion is selfless and easy to give to someone we want to be with. Jesus devoted Himself to His Father and then to us because of love. As we develop a relationship with Him, we learn that devotion is not committed behavior caused by a creator-created duty but rather an act of love between the creator and the created.
